About Artist

Kristina Aleksynaitė (born 1981 Kaunas, Lithuania) is a Stockholm-based photographer and journalist with a master's degree in journalism and extensive experience working in major Lithuanian media channels.

Since 2009, she has been creating photo reportages and portraits of the heroes she interviews, eventually founding her first photographic portrait studio in Vilnius in 2018.

During the pandemic, Kristina began using visual media as a means of expressing ideas, focusing in recent times on existentialist themes such as the parallels between life and death, the sacredness of everyday objects, and the transformations of humans throughout their lives.

Kristina regards each new series of her photographs as a transformative ritual that mirrors her artistic vision, characterised by minimal aesthetics and a preference for black and white film.
